A sensory twist to a geometric identity for a minimalist, contemporary space

Named after the exosphere, the outmost layer of the earth’s atmosphere, Exo is a rooftop bar and lounge in Mumbai's luxurious Palladium Hotel (previously the Shangri-La Mumbai). Drawing inspiration from the the interior of the space, the brand identity and system is clean and contemporary, forming bold geometric patterns to complement its environment.
The identity follows Gestalt’s principle of multi-stability and reification. One arc is interpreted in two ways, and may be read as a part of both ‘x’ as well as ‘o’. The last two arcs are also perceived to form a complete 'o'. The four parts also represent the four distinct spaces Exo provides to its guests.
The logo is leveraged to create a pattern that is used on collateral and compliments the interior design and ambience of the bar.
